Sorry about the block. I got carried away.
Yes ^^ That was the point I was trying to make when I said "which might just come with more players." I probably would have explained myself better if I wasn't typing on mobile then. Since I'm no longer restricted to mobile, I'll explain myself a bit further.
I am aware there is an MMR system in place, but at this stage in the game it's not ABLE to meet it's full potential as a system. As mentioned before by myself and again through karotteenkoenig, there simply aren't enough players. It's making its base off of a very small pool of people with wide skill ranges. Because of this, it's not AT THE MOMENT a viable MMR system. I'm hoping that with an increase of players that will stabilize.
Which brings me to my other point. With the MMR system the way it is at the moment new players are matched with top players on a regular basis. This, in my opinion, makes the games go a LOT faster as they are so uneven (i.e. higher experienced players get fed, end game quicker or 15 minute surrenders also can occur). With more players the MMR system would reach its full potential and players of equal or near equal skill sets would be placed with and against each other, the newer players left out of that pool. With more even matches, I feel they would last a bit longer than 15-20 minutes...
Obviously this isn't always the case, this is just something I FEEL would happen. I'm also not an expert and don't know how their MMR system is coded. It's obvious the matches weren't even, but....it's beta. I hate to throw the "it's beta" and "give it some time" saying but in this case I do honestly feel it's just something that will take time to settle, just as METAs and such have to settle as the game progresses.
I don't particularly want the matches to be paced "quicker." I believe I voiced my opinion about it before that I felt the pace of the game was a bit slower and I felt there wasn't much progression, but I mostly was referring to movement speed...not character leveling or skill/attribute progression. But I suppose that's something I'll have to see first hand before I make a set opinion, as with everything else :D.
I'm VERY excited to see the jungle revamp with buffs! I for one would LOVE to jungle more and am very hyped to test out the buffs and jungle routes. I feel jungling was overlooked at first, but rightfully so with getting the more important game mechanics settled properly.
As for having a "monthly" update, I don't really mind, I'm just impatient Some information is definitely better than none, and it does show that the devs are hard at work with making SN better and to get it out there to the players in the best condition possible. I do feel as though for the people just joining in on the SN hype, something like a bi-monthly smaller announcement or smaller reminders with just the monthly would keep them with the game. Like: hey...yea I remember looking at that! I kinda want to go check up on it. I don't want SN to lose it's hype for the players that just got into it but not... INTO it like some of the earlier players. I feel like having it once a month people are more likely to overlook or get distracted by other games or life (lolsure).
It's not even just for the newer players, but also people who don't check the website or forums every day, or even only check back once every couple of weeks. Some people just don't stay updated and might check back once in forever until they see it's up again. Something like e-mail subscriptions and stuff would be kinda cool in my opinion, or have a dev meet-up FAQ or Q/A on twitch ALONG with the Augury (this would cause lots of hype imo I want to see the devs stream, and I'm sure I'm not the only one).
