I appreciate the detail that is going into this discussion. Force strategies and builds are mostly absent from the forums which saddens me greatly. Its a part of the game that is often overlooked due to its subtle effects on the battlefield. It may also be because there are lot more moving pieces and its bit more difficult to give deep meaningful advice.
Whichever the case is, I hope we get more of discussion on this in the future. It would be nice if someone would put out a guide.
Not so much moving on, but introducing a tangent, what do people think about Commander design? The OWL commander thread has been very intriguing and has made me think of more questions to pose to the community.
What do you like about commander designs?
Think about the Commander models, their coloring, animations, particles etc, as well their kit and how it fits into the theme as well as their role. Do these elements make them stand out or do they feel like clones of other MOBAs
What would you like changed?
Do you think the art style should be different? Should kits be more diverse and unique? Would you like to see an additional abilities be added to the commander, such as a unique passive?
What types of commanders would you like to see in future patches?
Do you want to see more commanders based on popular tropes/themes? Any specific mechanics or abilities that you think would be cool to design a commander around?
Please keep in mind this is purely from a design perspective and not a balance one. Commander balance is like a seesaw with hippo jumping from one end to the other. It will always seem to tilt to heavily on one side or another.
