Taking a look at Axion, you see he's listed as a Brawler or Assassin. Meaning that he could be built and used as either a brawler OR an assassin. However, in his current state, he's basically both at the same time. How exactly? Well he's a high damage carry capable of deleting opponents while still managing to hold the fight with the enemy team due to his presence and kit.
It's become rather ridiculous. For example, I played a match in which an Axion went into a fight, 1v5, completely alone, enemy team with relatively full health, got a penta and then won the game... singlehandedly; even though his team was missing a teammate all game.
The main reason that he's able to do this is because of 3 aspects in his rather bloated, no-risk ult: cooldown reset on kills and assists, invulnerability while in air, and regen of stamina.
So here's some ideas on nerfs that would make Axion still useful but less broken:
-Make a cooldown between each reset. So basically the passive cannot occur more than once every ___ seconds.
This is the simplest fix. And this doesn't have to be very large. A 10 second cooldown would be enough to make the reset useful something like escaping or chasing while not letting him 1v5 a whole team in 5 seconds. This nerf is if you seriously want to keep his invulnerability state while he's in midair.
-Remove the invulnerability while in the air
Removing his immortality would do just that, remove his immortality. No assassin should be able to go into the middle of a team and not be killed even though he's surrounded. This nerf is if you want the option to still get resets but forces Axion to play more safe.
-Removing invulnerability but granting a shield for a short duration
The shield that he gains while in air can scale on armor like Aeilus's shield, further motivating people to decide on being either a brawler or an assassin, trading out damage with defense. But keep in mind, that he'd still be vulnerable while in the air and the shield wont be massive. The point of this is to make him killable, not a flying duck in bullseye. The shield will not stack, as making it stack probably wont solve the issue of his snowball. This option is if you really want to keep the reset function on every kill and assist.
-Remove the invulnerability and replace with a self heal
This is similar to the idea behind the shield but this one can be scaled on max health, making him vulnerable to damage if he's going full assassin build, but still useful if he's going a more health heavy brawler.
-Remove the stamina regen on kills and assists
Stamina is his resource that he uses to kill, so if every time you kill someone, that resource is renewed, what are you gonna do? Keep killing. So by adding this change, Axion now has to think "I have this much resource, I need to pick my targets wisely so I don't run out." But since getting a kill restores his resource, he needs no planning, just goes in slicing and snowballing. This change is to really make him a precision assassin, planning ahead before acting, not a Rambo assassin that charges in shooting from the hip and can't be hurt. The problem with this nerf is that it will probably have little effect compared to the other ones listed, so this could be added on to supplement the others.
Notice that all of these ideas are focused on his ult, which directly does not hurt any enemy player. The NON-LETHAL ability needs a nerf... that's when you know there's a problem. I saw no threads actively calling for Axion nerfs, so I decided to make one, since it is something that I think needs to be considered by the devs and community. Anyone have any other ideas on how to nerf him if his ult is not to be affected?
